Video by @stephenwilkes. Last summer I traveled to Bass Rock, an island off the coast of Eastern Scotland to document bird migration for National Geographic. My purpose was to create a Day to Night photograph documenting the world’s largest population of Northern Gannets. This is a behind the scenes video of that incredible journey. Being surrounded by thousands of gannets, created a challenging environment to photograph in to say the least! This photograph is part of a series of Day to Night images created for the March issue of National Geographic, “The Journeys of Migratory Birds” story.
