Wow what a whirlwind two days in Providence! Sold out show at the super cool Columbus theatre with, @thenonoboyproject. guest lectured at @juliansaporiti’s class, invited by Brown University Arts Initiative to do a songwriting workshop with some very talented music makers. Had brain straining discussions on empathy and catharsis, caught up with old friends, and got called out on the use of the word “exotic”. It’s part of the paradigm of oppressive language that still lingers, and it’s important for us people in a position of comfort and privilege to be sensitive about language because just cause it doesn’t hurt us personally, it doesn’t mean it’s harmless. Also can somebody read this Thai sign? (Also a bit disappointed to find out H.P. Lovecraft was pretty racist)
