?Happy St Davids Day ? Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus ?⠀⠀ March 1st marks the celebration of the national day of Wales and of the Welsh patron #StDavid.⠀⠀

We look at some of our favourite bands and musicians from #Wales. As a country it boasts some brilliant names in Indie and Alternative Rock world⠀⠀

Top of our list is underground legend #JohnCale. He helped bridge the gap between music and the avant garde - boldly experimenting with drone and electronic music with bands like #TheVelvetUnderground.⠀⠀

Other well known bands include @stereophonicsofficial and the @manicstreetpreachers- two Alternative Rock bands that enjoyed immense success a decade or so back. Stereophonics even joined a small group of names- think Beatles, Led Zeppelin- who achieved five No.1 albums one after the other. . In a similar sphere, @superfurryanimals another great band, and their frontman #GruffRhys met equal success as a solo magician, and with #NeonNeon. ⠀⠀

If you are into the Beatles, check out #Badfinger. You'll already have heard of Baby Blue. And if you're into 90's music, try #EurosChild and #Catatonia If you fancy a laugh- who could forget #GoldieLookinChain? If you appreciate things a bit heavier- Wales has plenty of that too. Seminal band #Budgie have been around since the 60's- and have been doing what Metallica, Black Sabbath, Melvins and Iron Maiden- all fans- have been doing ever since.⠀⠀
