Photographing pine martens was a bit more challenging than shooting other large fauna. When I photograph something like a moose, they tend to move very slow and may hold a position for a few seconds even up to a few minutes making it easy to get the shot. These martens (and many other weasels) are like small birds. What I mean is that they never stop moving and their movements are incredibly fast and sporadic. Even when this marten pulled its head up from the snow and glanced my way, it was maybe just under a second that I had to react and press the shutter. At least the one positive with photographing small fast creatures is that they can't kill you like a bear can, so that's always a good thing!
