My dad came to America with nothing but a college scholarship and two hand-me-down suits. He built a house that was such a feat, it made me think anything was possible. Growing up here caused me to see spaces differently, and know that The American Dream was real. I’m so thankful to the city of Joliet for being so open to my family, as eccentric as we are. We loved every bit of this town, and our decades in it. Long live The Safe Haven.
