#PancakeDay, or #ShroveTuesday is the feast day immediately before Ash Wednesday which marks the start of the 40 days of Lent that lead up to Easter. The day is celebrated in some countries by consuming pancakes because eggs, flour and milk were once very common ingredients to give up for Lent, so it made sense to use them all up in one dish before Lent started. Because its date is determined by that of #EasterSunday, Pancake Day really is a movable feast, and a special day celebrated in many countries around the world. In France, the USA and other countries, it is called 'Mardi Gras' or 'Fat Tuesday'. If you're celebrating today, let us know where you are! ???
