Women earned some pretty big—and small—victories in what has been a problematic year in many ways. We’re counting down to 2018 by celebrating some of those major moments. “Because Donald Trump took his place as the President of the United States around the same time awards season kicked off, the red carpet became the perfect platform for disheartened stars to showcase political opinion all year. In addition to the blue ribbons worn to support the ACLU, an ongoing parade of celebrities including Emma Stone, Lena Dunham, Dakota Johnson, Rachel Bloom, and Sally Field, showed up to the year's most visible events including the Oscars, the Golden Globes, the Met Gala, and the Tonys wearing pins in support of Planned Parenthood.
