Photo by @shonephoto (Robbie Shone) - Križna jama (cave) is located under the area of Bolke, Loškimand Cerknica field, in Slovenia. The cave is named after a nearby church of St. Cross (Sv. Križa). It is one of the few tourist caves in Slovenia that doesn’t contain concrete pathways and strong lighting, which is harmful to the environment. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful and best preserved caves in Europe / the world. The cave features a chain of underground lakes with emerald green water. Over the next few weeks, I will unravel a portfolio of photographs that was shot for @NatGeoAdventure from the famous river caves of Slovenia, birth place of speleology and home to the 'human fish'. With my caving colleagues I visited 8 caves, each one varied and different with its own personality. Words by Andrew Bisharat.
