Candle feat. YUKA (from moumoon) out today!! Link in bio This is maybe my most heartfelt ♡ song on this new album "TEN" which is coming out March 21st!! (日本語は下部） I actually started writing this song a while ago when I was living in Japan and the big Tsunami and Earthquake had just happened. There was a Candle artist in Japan called @candle_june who was using Candles to bring hope and peace to people in areas that disasters struck. The power that these small flames brought to people inspired me. I had the first verse in Japanese, the melody for the pre-chorus and a finished Chorus, but I couldn't finish it until this year, with the help of my amazing co-writers Richard Rudolph and YUKA who helped me articulate some of these lyrics and help me say what I wanted to in Japanese and English. Adam who produced this song brought this amazing idea to make the pre-chorus 3/4 time which felt so weird at first but now makes the song for me! After hearing YUKA's warm voice joining me on this song I started bawling my eyes out and felt that this song had somehow become bigger than me. The song was speaking to me and telling me to keep shining in dark times BECAUSE it's dark. I hope this song will spark a fire in you and give you hope or comfort in times when it seems easier to hide our light or put it out altogether. ?
