We welcomed some special visitors from Norway yesterday!
Every year a tree is sent as a gift from Bergen to Newcastle as a gesture of goodwill between the twin cities. Prior to the Christmas tree lights switch on last night, Marte Mjøs Persen - Mayor of Bergen and Grethe Blacklock – Royal Norwegian Consul joined Councillor Linda Wright - Lord Mayor of Newcastle and Patrick Tracey - Civic Officer, Newcastle City Council for a visit to Beamish.
