The feeding schedule for #egret parents gets increasingly more difficult the larger your chicks get. These young birds seen here are days away from leaving the nest, requiring multiple meals a day which is an exhausting schedule for the parents. This process also gets increasingly more violent the bigger they get, seeing it first hand is shocking. The chicks will peck and bite and the parents throat aggressively, forcing the adult to regurgitate a meal. I know, it’s gross, but when there’s no grocery store, refrigerator or stove you have to make due.
