Sitting 52 floors above Tokyo @parkhyatt’s New York Grill. Maybe you remember it as the setting for the movie ‘Lost in Translation?’

This is my first time in Japan. I did it as part of an @afarmedia Experience. I’m not much of a group traveler, but this trip was different.
.
Designed to give each of us access to people and activities almost no one else gets, the AFAR trip dug deep into Japanese culture. From private discussions with the Chairman of the Asia Pacific Initiative to small group dinners with locals at hidden restaurants, so much of what we experienced isn’t really anything one can duplicate.

Above that I met so many wonderful, warm, smart, and inspiring people on the trip. It was one of those moments in life that I’ll savor and return to again and again.

This was not a sponsored trip and no one is paying me to share this, fyi. This was a gem of a travel experience for me and that’s why I want to share it with you.

I love when I get to travel deeper. In fact, we had this top floor restaurant all to ourselves - a first for visitors to Tokyo. Not even Scarlett and Bill can claim that.
