Bill T. Jones is one of the most innovative dancers, directors and choreographers of our time.
Since the founding of his dance company in 1982, Jones has used his craft to explore contemporary ideas of identity and race. His performances are eloquent expressions of movement and thoughtful thematic meditations.
Jones’ portrait is by the artist Robert Mapplethorpe, whose stylized black and white images have distinguished him as one of America’s most provocative and important photographers.
