This is my 91-year-old father-in-law paying homage to #Sparty, the original terra-cotta statue from the 1930s which is now at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing Michigan. He’s a #veteran of WW II where he served in the South Pacific for nearly 3 years. When he arrived back home he went straight to #Michigan Statet on a G.I. Bill scholarship. He lived in a Quonset hut on campus and @msu_spartans football helped him put aside the horrors he experienced during the war. I’m grateful to my father-in-law, James Apostle, and all our other veterans as we celebrate them on #Veterans Day. They deserve our appreciation every day. We are grateful for the way the VA takes care of his needs. And I’d be grateful if the #Spartans pull out a win today to honor Dad:) #GoGreen
