Oblong-winged katydids like these at the @auduboninstitute Insectarium in New Orleans occasionally hatch out in vibrant color variants in nature, though anything but green is usually spotted immediately and eaten by predators. These insects can be found among forests, shrubs and weeds throughout most of the Eastern United States. The @AudubonInstitute Insectarium has been a leader in breeding these color variants.
