Chosen as one of the 100 Waterfalls of Japan, Matsumi Falls presents a two-tier drop of some 90 meters.

Seldom visited by tourists, the falls are located about 9 kilometers off the main road that follows the Oirase Gorge, where it can be found at the end of a three-hour hike along an unpaved track. As there are a few branching paths and no direction markers along the trail, we strongly recommend going with a guide to avoid getting lost!
