Round, pale moon jars are one of the most beloved forms in the Korean ceramics tradition. The porcelain vessels were made in two hemispherical parts and joined at the center. The clay shifts and slumps while being fired in the kiln, creating an uneven form that is admired for its organic imperfection. The undecorated surface draws attention to the play of light over the milky white glaze.
