These past weeks have seen some amazing strides for women in my particular industry and beyond. The bravery of every person telling their story is MINDBLOWING and we're being taken SERIOUSLY. But if, like me, you are social media addict AND an assault survivor your nervous system may be suffering. (No, I didn't cry outside the supermarket trying to think of something delicious to eat, you did jerk!!!) This picture is of my beloved friend Russell Brown. He owns and operates @pokeacupuncture where he does treatments on all sorts of folk and also volunteers his time and skill at women's shelters. I met him over 6 years ago and because my gaydar is very poor and he is very beautiful I thought we would date. What happened was even better. Tonight he did a treatment on me called "foot overlooking tears" to release all the pain, anger and need for gummy frogs. I'm so lucky to know a healer who is a true friends and a big feminist weirdo. Though he was born male this time around, he is also my #WCW.
