@cambodiatownfilmfestival starts today! Check out the thoughtfully curated films lined up this weekend in Long Beach! #tbt to last year's festival when @monypal and I won the lip sync battle with "Champa Battambang" by Sinn Sisamouth
Sinn Sisamouth was a beloved singer in Cambodia who died during the Khmer Rouge regime. His song "Champa Battambang" is still famous today. It is a love letter to the city of Battambang, reminiscing about a home, and a lost love. Never forgotten, but also never reunited. This is one of my dad's favourite songs.
