I remember how I used to save money as a young girl (yeah loooong time ago ;) to buy magazines that featured women of color; especially editorials and fashion shoots. ? I loved them! I was always hunting for them ?Sometimes I was lucky and found awesome ones in the old paper container at school!! And if I saw a copy @ the dentist, I'd offer him my pocket money ?. His assistant once secretly slipped me the magazine I was looking for because it was falling apart anyway. Other kids collected stamps, football cards or pictures of New Kids On The Block (gotta admit I had one poster too!!). To me it was just like that: a teenage passion. It wasn't until later that I reaIized I was looking for a representation of me.. Dark skin and long legs. Here's to the anniversary of @bazaar_nl.
