It's the 16th Anniversary of the tragic events of September 11. I photographed the Twin Towers of Light the first time they illuminated the New York skyline, March 2002, six months after the towers fell. The photo was taken from the Empire State Building while I was on assignment for the Nat Geo. To the left of the lights you can see the glow of Ground Zero where the recovery operation was still going on. I am posting this photo as a memorial to those who perished and a tribute to those who survived. #9/11 #twintowers #wtc #newyork #sept11  @thephotosociety @ナショナルジオグラフィック @natgeocreative
