setting the stage for the first nights meal at our Gotland workshop - .
against the backdrop of the pale and dreamily thick walls of our two hundred year old farmhouse home the table was laid with elegantly modern pieces from @brostecph. that cool and muted swedish color palette, earthy and calming and layers of sparkling glass, mercurial chocolate colored flatware, rich reflective coppery candle holders and the flames of what seemed like a million dancing flames from the prettiest blue grey tapers

I love that mix of old and new - using the architecture and bones with character and stories of their own to anchor the more modern elements- the result is something with soul a perfect stage for the idle hours of chatter and getting to know one another conversations around this great old wooden table - in dwindling light of the Swedish summer sun we lit candles and poured the first glasses of wine- intoxicated by the scent of the birch branches and the island site luffing through the open windows land waited for our guests

@adelasterfoodtextures treated us all to six courses of her divine cooking - each plate more heavenly and beautiful than the last and each using a unique ingredient from the swedish landscape - blowing our minds with new flavor and textures abound - like rose-hip soup delicate and pale pink or the morsels of light fluffy chèvre croquets with bright pea pure -we were captivated, happily ensnared and we sat for hours together soaking it all in
