When the demo E.P. of their ‘Who Loves This’ hit our desk last month, we were pretty relieved to know that the spirit of punk is being kept alight by the British youth of today. @wholovesthisgeneration are a slap-to-the-face as opposed to a breath-of-fresh-air, and efficiently fuse the vigour, sound and style of every kind of rock’n’roll music. Which chiefly means that you’ll love them too. The four-piece formed a year ago in Liverpool, with two brothers James and Dean Carne seeking out Tom Collins and Nathan Sanderson some six months later. Early as it is, the band have already found themselves signed to The Spirit of Punk label, and supporting the likes Slaves and Idles. Their E.P. is a heady mix, coalescing the vibes and attitude of The Cramps, Stooges and Sonics. And they certainly look the part. We met with them for a chat in Soho. The guys are a haze of leopard, safety pins and studs- two smiling and two smouldering. Their subversion of youth and new, with past remnants of cool is dizzying at times. It’s a rare sight to see a band with such attention to style in today scenes. Their DIY patches and raw adornments project as quite opulent at times. Equating to perfectly mirror the way they sound. It’s because of their audacious approach to revive the lost art of crafting coolness that we have welcomed them to our Soundwave project. As always, we’ve discovered something that we like, and we want to share that with you. In the near future, you can catch the full interview with Generation, and a video of the day spent with them. For the meantime- you can check their music out and see what you think. ? credit to @millrad
