In 2007 a woman named Rhoda Hogan wanted to help end this barbaric & inhumane procedure, so she left a bequest of $125,000 that was to go to (her words), "An organization to be used to publicize & educate the public about the cruel effect of de-clawing cats & to support legislation forbidding it." Cornell Feline Health Center was awarded this bequest over the @pawproject because they talked a good talk & persuaded the lawyer & courts that they would do a lot of good things to help end declawing with her money. ? Guess what? They didn't.? In fact, they lied and misused her money. They said that they used $100k of it to make 6 very short (2 minute) videos about scratching behavior. The feline behaviorist who is in the videos told me that she wrote ALL the material, said they took two days to make, and she doesn't remember getting paid but if she did, it was no more than $200. ? 10 years later, Cornell STILL hasn't used the rest of Mrs Hogan's money and recently told the courts after I told them about this egregious injustice, "The Center’s current leadership intends to use the funds to support novel public outreach efforts to encourage non-surgical alternatives to declawing. They are actively evaluating the most effective means for carrying out this plan." Cornell also isn't supporting the anti-declawing bill in NY, they declaw cats at their animal hospital and they didn't even bother to put the 6 short videos on any of their social media pages. They screwed Mrs Hogan over big time and she's still turning over in her grave. I have a HUGE favor to ask. Cornell will be at CatCon on Aug 12,13th. Will you please nicely ask the folks in the Cornell booth 1124, what they are going to do with Mrs Hogan's $25k & also what they really did with the rest of the $100k. Pls take a pen & paper and take their names & notes like a reporter would do, so I can post their responses. Ask them WHY aren't they supporting the bill to ban declawing like Mrs Hogan's wanted. Best person to ask is their ass. director, Bruce Kornreich, who most likely knows exactly what Cornell really did with the money. #catcon #cornellvet #coverup #pawsneedclaws #injustice
