I spun around just in time to catch two humpback whales cruising along the ocean floor. With pectoral flukes up to 14 feet long (1/3 of their body length), they glide along the ocean floor as if they are flying. Once hunted to the brink of extinction, their global populations fell by an estimated 90% before a 1966 moratorium was introduced.
