So proud of this guy. He hasn't had much experience socializing with other horses, and just like his momma, when he does interact with others, he's a bit awkward and doesn't totally fit in, but I'm so impressed that he showed up with his authentic self, cautiously optimistic in hopes of making a friend. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I made a pact with him that from now on I'll only show up with my authentic self so he has permission to to always do the same. In my experience when I pretend to be something I'm not, I just gravitate the wrong people and get stuck in an exhausting performance that betrays and dishonors my true self and all around confuses everyone.
