At a pub on Ariel Street embracing the loyalist locals. I am very fortunate to "embrace" people in general because of the Spartacus link. The guy in the red shirt was a big fan of Spartacus. Yet the conflict here in Belfast is very real - like gladiators from two different camps & this is a formidable shadow that cannot be dismissed. The Black Cab driver we were with was Republican Catholic & would not come inside because of the existing animosity. To understand this is hard line of difference is difficult if you are not from Belfast. It is a British/IRISH national fight. Only to study it's history can you even make an opinion. Glad to learn more. Thank you for your hospitality!!
