After having my second baby I knew that I wanted to start working out as soon as I got the "OK" from my doctor. Of course, one reason was to lose the baby weight. Another was to have extra energy since my day was consumed by sleepless nights, babies, feeding and poop, everywhere?. The third reason though is STILL one of the main reasons I work out... for my mental health. I don't talk about it too often but I struggled with the blues after having my first son, Finn, and it scared me. I was lethargic, I was totally overwhelmed by this new baby (who I loved very much) and I had a hard time adjusting to being "needed" 24/7. It gave me anxiety and I also struggled with everyone only ever asking me about the baby was and how motherhood was, because I didn't leave all my hopes, ambitions and dreams on the delivery room floor. I really wanted to be a good mom and I desperately needed something just for me that would help. Enter @kayla_itsines BBG?? ➡️ taking that 30 minutes a day to do something just for me , to work hard at something and see changes, to feel like I accomplished something for ME, and to get endorphins to make everything feel a bit better... it made me feel human again, like I could reclaim a bit of the old Morgan that I somehow couldn't find. The structure of the workouts took the anxiety away from working out and made it so fun (even if it kicked my butt every.single.time. ? It truly helped me to be a better mother. When I found out I was expecting baby number two when Finny was 8 months old I knew that this was going to essential to surviving life with two bubbas, 16 months apart. And it has been. A year later and I still get anxious at times, I still struggle with some of those blues, but I feel STRONG?? and like I can take on anything. And I have this amazing community of women who are there to support and encourage me every step of the way.? I am so so thankful for all of you ?? For those of you mama's who are struggling...
