Opening this week: Taryn Simon and Andy Warhol in "The Flower Show" at the Granoff Center for the Creative Arts, Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island, opening June 15.
This exhibition is an ironic examination of the many forms of flower pictures labeled both trivial and feminine. It will examine the history of female artists creating works involving flowers and will include Taryn Simon’s recent series, "Paperwork and the Will of Capital" (2015), depicting bouquets at historical events as well as works by Andy Warhol.
