It's Sunday, let's play! In Bargain Hunter, players raced each other to furnish their new apartments with necessary items (which, interestingly, included not one but two pets). Released in 1981 by Milton Bradley, the game had a fun perk: a tactile credit card machine. Unlike its real-world counterpart, the game's machine left credit-worthiness to chance; a spinning display determined whether the player was "Credit Approved" or "Credit Not Approved." ?

First introduced in the 1950s, credit card usage exploded in the 1980s, and the challenge of shopping with credit became a new dynamic for board games to explore. ?

We hope you have a fun weekend, whether you're nifty and thrifty or a big spender. ?
