Doctors at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute have successfully created life-size 3D-printed hearts, some of which are on display in our Out of Hand exhibition.
The development of these models – which replicate human hearts – will help doctors better prepare for surgery on patients with heart problems. If doctors can precisely plan and rehearse procedures prior to surgery, they can minimse the risks involved.
