4-year-old Eva Robert lives in Tete, #Mozambique, with her parents and her brother, Marco. Both of the children have albinism — and where they live, that means they aren’t safe. So their parents send the siblings to school in another town, which they believe is safer. Meanwhile, they hope that their leaders will do more to help. The government has started public information campaigns to quash the superstition that albino body parts bring good luck. The police, too, have become more attentive to the issue. And civil-society groups aim to protect albinos and discourage trafficking. “But much more needs to be done,” writes the photographer @danirodriguesphoto, who traveled to southern Africa in 2015 to chronicle the #albino community and its difficulties.
