Cafe Colbar - Enjoy a drink at a renovated British army canteen “I visited Cafe Colbar and had the (Hainanese) pork chop. The white-haired old lady told me that Westerners didn't understand what Hainanese meant and so they removed the word from the menu. The pork chop’s presentation and taste were somehow nostalgic (probably because I am a Hainanese myself), especially with the green peas and being surrounded by nature, which reminded me of home.”
「このお店のメニューから「海南」という言葉は外されてたけれど、ここの名物「海南ポークチョップ」を食べました。ウェイターの白髪のおばあちゃんに話を聞いたら、西洋人がこの言葉（海南）の意味を理解できなかったから外したみたい。私が海南系（海南島から来た移民の家系）だからかもしれないけれど、ここのポークチョップはどこかノスタルジックな味がして、お肉と一緒に添えてあるグリーンピースや、自然に囲まれているこの食堂の雰囲気が実家のことを思い出させてくれる。」
