The Ruby Slippers are off to see the Wizard in the conservation lab.? April 23 is the last day to see them for a while at @国立アメリカ歴史博物館.
Dorothy (played by Judy Garland) wore them in the 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz,” and they’ve been on display almost continuously since their donation to the museum in 1979. Now they’re showing their age.
Last fall, nearly 6,500 fans donated to our Kickstarter campaign, #KeepThemRuby. With that help, the Ruby Slippers will be getting some much-needed conservation and will be placed in a new state-of-the-art case to keep them sparkling for generations to come.
