While working with biologist, Jorge Fontes, in Azores, we noticed a Mobula (Devil Ray) stuck to an anchor line and it sparked an idea. This is the first known deployment of a non-invasive, radio collar-tag to the species. In the past, tags are often speared into the Rays, arguably effecting their normal behavior and thus the data collected. The more we can learn about these beautiful rays the better the chances of protecting them.
