Photograph by @Thomas Peschak Namaqua Chameleons are endemic to the deserts of Southern Africa. In Namibia they hunt on both sand dunes and gravel plains, searching for beetles and other insects. Their modified tongues can accelerate from 0-60 mph in a hundredth of a seconds. Prey can be snagged in just 20 milliseconds. The white flakes around the animals head are old skin, which is shed regularly. Shot on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック. For more photographs from Namibia follow @Thomas Peschak
