"I decided to start running without a wig because it was something that got in the way and definitely made it hotter when I was running. Running without a wig makes me feel confident in my own skin. I have experienced stares and questions about whether or not I have cancer, and it doesn't bother me. I love to tell people that I'm lucky, and I'm healthy and that the only thing I don't have is hair, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I got diagnosed with alopecia when I was 14 months old, and about 2 months later lost all my hair. I struggled with it. I was insecure, but I know that this is something that I have to live with, and that I can get through mostly anything. No matter what life throws at me, I'm always up for a challenge. I run because every time I put my sneakers on I feel this high. I love it because when I'm running, every problem goes away, and every stress of the day disappears, and it is the most amazing feeling.
