I'm so happy to tell you that Gus has been doing all his normal abnormal things, like climbing up my leg and/or the wall, hollering at me, following me around and he jumped on my back while I was cleaning litter boxes this morning. Hank is pissy and lashing out like we got a new cat, making everyone miserable like a goddamn pro. According to my calculations we have approximately 6 hours left before his bruised ego heals and then it will be like nothing happened. Now for the medical stuff: I unfortunately left his papers at home like a dope, so I am working from memory. The doctors believe that Gus has a congenital heart defect that causes his heart to beat abnormally. (This will be put on the youcaring site when I have the papers in front of me)
Right now he has some fluid in his lungs (he's not having trouble breathing) and a pretty beat up heart. The doctors say this is all consistent with what he went through, and we should see improvement. He will be going back to UC Davis next Friday to run a ton more tests. (Many will be retests) Currently he is on two meds that are working great to regulate his heartbeat. Please feel free to leave questions here if I have missed something and I will do my best to answer.
