On Power & The Black American Future: Power shifts to those that prepare. As we begin to imagine what is next for the Black American I think it is of use to begin with what is the goal. Is it to amass wealth and centrally govern? Is the goal to become a house of intellectual production and curation? Is it to become practical caretakers of the environment and the beings that populate it? The Black American sits at an interesting point in history as it has many times in the past 100 or so years. The difference being that this generation has at its disposal a view of the full face of its condition. It also has the tools and space to write a new course totally disconnected from the influences of power structures that were once so strong before. Impediments of access to information and communication are mostly gone. Technology is rendering the systemic empirical controls of classical labor irrelevant degree by degree. Sustainable energy platforms are disrupting the regimes of traditional elites and their aims. It would be foolish to underplay the strength of the current currents that yet persist however it is no longer justifiable to overestimate their sustainability in the affairs of our daily lives. A shift is closely approaching and the desperation of retaining the antiquated "destiny" of the past against the tide of the future shock embodied in Donald Trump should be seen by all as a stumble not a stride. But through him an unconscious gift was given and in his own words at that, "I give this power back to you, The People." However the power of which he speaks is in actuality obsolete. Batteries that have been drained of their once mighty imperial power. It is time to conceptually redefine power and its place in our world. WMJ
