Photograph by @Thomas Peschak This is the most unique way to hunt lobsters I have ever come across. This local fishermen harvests the seas off Mozambique's Vamizi Island and his indigenous traditional knowledge of marine ecology makes him uniquely skilled. He knows that on these coral reefs octopus are the most lethal predators of lobsters. So armed with a freshly dead octopus tied to his spear he probes nooks and crannies where lobsters like to hide. When his octopus "enters" a occupied hole, the lobster panics and tries to escape by swimming out of its shelter.....and swims directly into the net of the waiting fishermen.
