1968 Weight Watchers food scale in our collection, familiar to some who've had healthy eating as a #NewYearsResolution in the past.
The Weight Watchers franchise company was founded in 1963 by Jean Nidetch, who modeled it on a support group she'd formed to help herself and her friends keep their resolve to lose weight. It expanded rapidly and by 1968, Weight Watchers also marketed cookbooks, frozen foods, and exercise videos.
