And Christmas explodes and melts itself down. Everything you once recalled about it , blurs. What's left is a single glowing ember. Of love. Sharing love. Building rituals around love. And you sigh at the child addicted to the present. You laugh at the adult cooking every known delight. You embrace the truth. For your son to know and grow with. That everything you need you already have. The best gifts are the ones you can't see. And the most magical part of this holiday is not what's under the tree but just simply time spent with family. Creating memories.
