フィラデルフィア美術館のインスタグラム(philamuseum) - 12月18日 12時09分
The dynamic pattern on this traditional garment was created by stitch-resist completed in several steps. Before each dyeing session, some areas of the fabric were stitched to protect them; when removed to reveal the various colors, the stitches also leave telltale creases. Visit “Threads of Tradition” to explore more African patterning techniques.
