Call this a tradition-meets-modern kind of Japanese roll cake. The signature Rakkan roll cake (280 yen) from Patisserie Rakkansha, Kyoto.
This had a plushy mouthfeel because it was made with mochi flour. Unless you are used to those sweet bean paste often found in wagashi, the sweetness of the white bean paste core (not the cream) might scare the soul out of you. But still, it's a special roll that I haven't seen elsewhere
