#TBT to the American Comedy Awards where I met Dustin Hoffman, again. Told him how I lied to get backstage to meet him in London when he was in "The Merchant Of Venice". I was studying Acting for my Junior year abroad. I delivered a card to the stage door and said "My father worked with Dustin and told me to pop by and say hi." Stage door man says "Who?" I said "Oh, Brian Messing? He directed Marathon Man (!!) with Dustin. I'm coming to the show tonight and would love to come by after the show." I ended up waiting for an actor to leave through the stage door and I ran and slipped in. I ended up getting an autograph & just stood there sobbing. Yup. Uber dork. He didn't remember but laughed at the tale.
