@Paramocoffee was one of the first coffee shop I discovered when I started IG. So Tom @yourfaultsourpuss was one of the first baristas I got to meet. Before I share with you a little about Tom I want to tell you how awesome and hardworking he is! Always makes a mean latte and so friendly (regardless the time of day I come by...Tom is always amazing!). A barista for 5 years, Tom grew up in the East Bay and said "San Francisco was a major upgrade from the suburbs of Concord." I asked Tom when did he know he wanted to be a barista, "It was never a career goal. I honestly just stumbled into coffee for convenience. The Philz coffee by my apartment was desparate for Baristas so I took a job there and discovered an affinity for coffee that I was unaware of." Tom enjoys the day to day interactions with his customers and love the fact he's able to have access to good coffee all the time.? Of course I had to ask him the craziest thing that happened at the cafe, "The week of superbowl city was one long incident. Having to go through metal detectors and past heavily armed soldiers just to go to the restroom was incredibly inconvenient and intimidating." Tom eventually would love to open his own roasting company but wants to travel first. If he could do anything right now, he would go and trek around southeast asia/europe for a year or two. I asked Tom to describe his perfect day, "Starts with a good cup of coffee, then good beers somewhere by the water, ending with a good concert." You guys come out to @paramocoffee in the Embarcadero and you'll find Tom creating his fav latte art, the "hanging hearts." ??? #SFBaristaSeries
