Photo by @bertiegregory for his new #wildlife #adventure YouTube series for Nat Geo. See the link in profile to watch. // Unlike many #marine mammals that keep warm using #blubber, sea otters have a relatively low amount of body fat. Instead, their bodies are insulated by their thick fur coats, the densest fur in the animal kingdom. In fact, they have more fur in an area the size of a thumbnail than we do on our entire bodies! I caught this cute little guy having a snooze – spot the kelp that he’s wrapped himself up in to stop him floating away. To see sea otters in action, look for episode 5 in the series playlist, link in my personal bio (@bertiegregory).
