#TodPapageorge was interested in the spectacle of sports and the challenge. He wanted to take photographs “of very complicated visual events and to make them clear and powerful.” This photograph of women runners is from his series Passing Through Eden: Photographs of Central Park. Central Park, a place Papageorge saw as New York’s Eden, is used for every manner of recreational activity and today tens of thousands of runners will run through it for one of the world's biggest and most popular marathons, the @nycmarathon.
