@FransLanting “Desert Elephants” In northern Namibia desert elephants are repopulating their ancient haunts along ephemeral watercourses. This one in the Huab River Valley is protected by the Torra Conservancy, one of more than 75 areas across the country where wildlife is rebounding under management by local communities. However in most of Africa, elephants are under siege. Their populations are declining at alarming rates due to the poaching crisis.
