Alicia is 75 years old and has lived in her apartment for over 20 years. The eviction notice states that the family must leave by the day after Christmas. "Even if we are good tenants and pay rent on time, everyone around here is worried that they will get pushed out," says Andrea. "When it actually happens to you, it's terrifying. We aren't just losing our home - we are losing our community." On November 8, voters in San Mateo and 4 other Bay Area cities will decide whether to pass new laws to prohibit "no cause" evictions.
